REVEAL DAY: Thrift Shop Blog Hop

Today is the reveal day for the Thrift Shop Blog Hop sponsored by Sarah of Pookledo!

.
The challenge was to get out to a local thrift shop and purchase an item for less than $1.50. We were then to make our own creation by repurposing the original item.

Here is what I started with - price $1.25 total. It is a necklace and a pin with small trinkets hanging off it.

I dismantled them . Quite a few of the components were pretty chintzy but there was just enough decent parts and  along with some of my own stash  I DID come up with a few things!

First I took the string of pink rhinestone and made a cute little bracelet - which was immediately scarfed up by my granddaughter, Gegi, who loves pink!

"Paternal Twins"

Next I made a set of assymetrical earrings - I usually stay on keel, at least in my jewelry - haha - but my granddaughter Jordyn assured me it was quite fashionable to wear earrings that aren't identical twins. So here are my "paternal twins" earrings!

Jordyn in her new earrings!

Okay so now one more piece... a sweet little necklace to match Princess Gegi's bracelet!

Princess Gegi

Not a bad haul for $1.25 huh? Let's go see what the other participants did...

Your grandkids are so cute! It's always fun seeing them. And they make GREAT models for your jewelry here! Bet they were happy for the custom-made jewelry too! What a deal!

This is another one, that I'm just amazed at the pieces you made from what you started with. It didn't look very hopeful to me in the beginning! ha! :-)

I am usually not a fan of asymmetrical earrings, but your are nice. Jordyn has good taste.

Nice! I see Princess Gegi nabbed two and Jordyn only got one? Or does her highness count earrings as two ? ;) lol Excellent work :)

Shelley, you rocked this! Perhaps we should all teeter "off keel" once in a while, if this be the result. I have fraternal twin nieces who would find your asymmetrical earrings very cool. But would I have to make FOUR mismatched items to ensure they don't switch and match!?!
