REVEAL DAY: What's in a Name? Blog Hop

" Yeah, it's mah birthday, I'm gonna party like it's mah birthday..."

... AND it's REVEAL day for the "What's in a Name?" Blog Hop too!

** Note: If you were also looking for the Nature-Inspired Challenge -  unfortunately I never received my package from Heather so I had to bow out. Bummer!

Here's What's in MY Name - TORI SOPHIA Designs...

My youngest granddaughter's name is Tori Sophia. She is the cutest "lil peanut". She is petite, with BIG round brown eyes. She is sweet when she wants to be, but she can be an absolute terror too! She has two older brothers but she is clearly in charge! She takes nothing off of them and can get rough with them if need be. She is bossy but in a really cute way. I just love her spirit!

Her name, Tori, is of Japanese origin and means BIRD. Her middle name, Sophia, is of Greek origin and it's meaning is WISDOM.

Now what is the wisest bird you know? The OWL of course.

That's how I chose my logo. Now why this particular owl? Well, it is because he is so cute and he reminded me of MY TORI SOPHIA!
Don't you agree?

UPDATE: July 18th...I guess with all the attention our lil Tori has gotten over the past 24 hours she's gotten a little BIG for her britches...

FOR my friends and followers who are just viewing this post...here is an updated picture of little Miss Tori...who is still a handful, smart as a whip but a sweetie, too!

YET another update (March 2017) :

Happy birthday, Shelley! What a great story. Your granddaughter is a DOLL! I loved reading the background of your shop's name and I am now off to add that part to MY blog post, because of course, I completely left it out. I get too caught up in words..... <3

Your grand-daughter sounds like a real firecracker, Shelley... what a cutie! A wonderful namesake for your business. I'm in the planning stages for my business, so I'm definitely checking out your party guests for inspiration. Sorry to hear about the Humblebeads going AWOL... once in awhile the postal system seems to "digest" something I'm eagerly awaiting, and that is a MAJOR bummer...

Your grandgirl is so amazingly gorgeous! Her eyes are beautiful. Good choice for your name, too. We recently moved from Texas to California to be close to our 2 yo granddaughter. Boy is she fun! And cute and smart and and and....

Heather, Mama, I KNOW you have CAADHD -Crafty Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder..cause I do too, and I recognize a sister CAADHD when I see one! Its all stems from being too intelligent and gifted for this world, don't you agree? HAHAHA That's why we are so misunderstood. We are just too deep for them - in a crafty way. LOL. Keep at it girl.

Well as long as I didn't have to clean up the house, I'll host anytime! See you soon Tammie?!

Monique, yup that is a perfect way to describe her - a firecracker! She is cute as a button but when she gets an attitude - watch out!

Looking forward to seeing more about your business. Keep me posted!

Thanks girl...hey where can I run into your mermaid dolls? I want to see!!

Thanks Sally for visiting and your kind words! Yes, grandbabies are fun. I have seven and enjoy them all. Tori is our youngest's youngest and her spirit is extra special...but we love them all! They bring us so much joy and pride. When we see what good mothers are girls are it lets us know we did something right! And the grands give so much to us...LOVE when they give hugs and tell you how they love you - nothing better! ENJOY yours!!!

Kashmira...yeah and SHE KNOWS IT...she has her grandfather wrapped right around her little finger. Me, she fights with me. We yell back and forth "stop it" until she finally say "shut up GRANDma!" its so funny! She's a lil bitty thing but packs a punch! I love her spirit, even when it's aimed at me!

That little dickens is the cutest patootie! What a sweet honor to name your designs after her. And you are right. That owl is the spitting image of her big brown eyes! Thanks for sharing this fun story. And happy birthday! Enjoy the day. Erin

Unknown said...

Thank you Erin! Yeah she is a cutie, but all of this must be going to her head. Her mom says she has been a real diva around the house the last coupla days!
