It's a quick, fun little challenge, where we raid 'his world' for items to use in ours. All we had to do was create a piece of jewelry using something that we found in his toolbox or his fishing box or the hardware store.
As I am away from home visiting my sweet sister, Jill, I actually ended up raiding my brother-in-law Pete's garage!
First, I saw some cute fishing lure being sold at their garage sale so I grabbed all those.
The next day I went to his workbench looking for a washer or two and I HIT THE MOTHERLOAD!!!
(I ended up taking a few more than I needed for this one challenge, but believe me he will never miss them - hehehe!)
Purchased a few extra things and threw it together in a blender (I'm kidding, just wanted to see if you were paying attention) - and viola, I got this delightful necklace. It's a lil quirky but I kinda like it! It was made with both store-bought and handmade chain, ribbon which was embellished with glass beads, bolts, washers, metal findings, a used fishing lure and a sinker! - Would you wear it???

OMG that is so adorable! Love the little blue fish! Excellent job :D
What I've seen of my hop so far is making my own little addition seem very sub-par and makes me wish I'd gotten a few more done >.< And hold on to those bits...I'm going to be having another toolbox challenge later in the year ;)
So many GREAT fishing lure pieces in this hop, make me wish my hubby was a fisherman. I love the coloring in yours, and don't worry about having to wear it instead of him, consider it an omage to your brother-in-law.
Are you serious? I love your bracelet!!! Oh I have a whole bag full of his stuff... I kept going back for more. He has so much, its like christmasz!
Haha a homage to my brother-in-law, thats funny. i been visiting my sister for over two weeks, and at this point I think he'd just as soon slap me on a hook and use me for a lure!
Those hammered metal hexagons are so unusual! Well done! :)
Oh thank you but I can't take credit for those, I bought them on sale at Michael's. I threw the header card away or I'd share what company makes them. The came in a package with three different metal types. I plan to patina and torch them to see what happens. I'm away from home so can't get to it until next week though! UGH, so many ideas, so little tools available!
Totally awesome!!! What a great "collection" of masculine items...
Mom that's pretty cool! Your grandson broke his bed today jumping on it. Got a lot of bolts and screws! You want?! Lol but seriously that looks so cool!!!
That is awesome Shelley! What a fun hop to be part of as well.
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!!!
Thanks Keri Lee, I love your set - so, so pretty. Those brass swivels are so cool, gotta pick up a few myself.
Thanks Marla. I am hoping you will be taking part in my "What's in a Name" Blog Hop. Was inspired by your recent blog posting...thinks its great way to learn about what make other artist tick as well as generate visitors to our blogs.
So are you coming to my birthday party?!
Very nice. I especially like the handmade chain. I finally got my piece up a day late.
Inge
Thank you Inge! I left a comment on your blog but your necklace is very pretty. Where did you find that cluster (grape-like?) bead? It's cool.
I love your piece!! Very cute! It's a keeper!!!
Thanks Dyanne...and I guess it is a keeper, unless you know a fisherman who wears a necklace, none of mine were interested! LOL
