Ears to You! with Amy Freeland of Copper Diem

Amy Freeland of Copper Diem is hosting today's blog hop in support of Ears To You ®.

Ears To You ® is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation and its mission is to provide earrings to lift the spirits of women undergoing chemotherapy for any type of cancer.

According to their website, these earrings:

  • brighten a woman's day when she needs a little lift
  • create a distraction from the IV's, worries and fears and allow her to do something fun
  • help a woman feel more "normal" and beautiful at a time when she's adjusting to her hair loss
  • provide hope about her situation and help her think positively
  • give encouragement from someone who has been there
  • are provided at no cost to the patient and donated WHILE she is receiving her chemo treatment

Amy asked each of the participants in her blog hop to create and donate several pairs of earrings. Here are mine -

Crazy Czech Beads and Copper Butterfly Earrings

Silver Swirl Earrings

Dainty Rose Quartz and Silver Beaded Earrings

Amy Freeland is one of most generous artists I know. She has donated proceeds from her jewelry sales to many organizations. Her current project is the Compassionate Color Project where 20% of her sales go to support different charities based on the color of the item purchased. It's a really cool idea - CHECK it out and and be sure to support her mission by shopping in her Etsy Shop .

Love all 3, but that second pair is TDF~ I have silver hammering envy. :)

These are all so beautiful! I love the playfulness of the first pair and the swirl in the second, with the spiral having a lot of positive symbolism. And the soft feminine look of the last pair is just so pretty :-)

Julie, those earrings are sooo easy to make. I bought the really soft aluminum wire and made swirls then just hammered a bit. You could use a regular hammer or other heavy object if you don't have the chasing hammer.

Your earrings are a visual treat, from bright to sophisticated to soft and subtle, I love them all (and so will the women who receive them!)

oooh...I love the "silver swirls" - I would never had known that was alumunium wire (judging from your comments above)! All 3 are beautiful and I am positive that the women who receive these will be thrilled!
