I didn't have a clue what I was going to do! I finally decided to use some of my polymer clay pieces I had made when I was experimenting with the Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Inks. I covered the tin with a mixture of acrylic paints and embossing powders, glued on a few polymer clay pieces in purples and blues, and mixed in some of my stash and VIOLA! a pretty tin that I will use to put away my favorite earrings - well, my current favorites anyways!
Make sure to check out all the great work by ALL the artists who took part in this challenge - there are some really gorgeous tins here that I would love to have!

SWEET.....I love a collaged box! Yours is so artful!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Your tins are beautiful too. I love the color combos and the way you layered all the components. AND that frame! I already said it once but I'll say it again - I WANT IT!!!
DeleteOh, I just love your tin! Really pretty colors and flowers!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary! I love the colors too, they are so "Monet" - all watercolorey (is that a word? hahaha, well you know what I mean!)
DeleteLove the colors so pretty I can see why you would save this for your favorites!
ReplyDeleteYour confetti tin is gorgeous. I love the rhinestones around the rim and the bee is so whimsical. It was very creative to come up with such a great use for it. I can see people buying something like this for wedding guests - beautiful and functional too!
DeleteStunning Work! Love your polyclay work abd the purples are sooo lush and vibrant. Beautiful
ReplyDeleteThanks Marla, it was fun playing with the inks, loved the mix of purple and blue. Gotta get back to doing more. XXOO
DeleteWhat a delicious blue. I love the collage of beads and cheery clay flowers! I love having dedicated special containers for favorites pieces of jewelry too.
ReplyDeleteTherese - your beading is glorious! Wow I MARVEL at your work. Beautiful piece!
DeleteWhat a lovely tin! I like the polymer pieces you made, the alcohol inks really gave them a nice depth of color. Very nice.

Oh my Dawn, your tin was one of my favorites! The large daisy tin is incredible. I wish I could create canes but I don't seem to be very good at it, guess I don't have the patience for the process. You did an excellent job!
DeleteLove it.
Thank you so much! I had so much fun with this challenge that I ordered a whole bunch more tins. I am going to go through the bead and finding soup bowl on my desk and incorporate some of my singleton beads on the top like you did with yours. Also I am very new at making canes, it is very hard for me to visualize the process from combining the colors to the finished cane. I have to have tutorials to follow to have the cane turn out right :)

I love that you used items that you had made earlier while experimenting with new techniques. I always save those things, but never know what to do with them! Your tin is proof that there's no need to throw anything away--you'll find a good home for it eventually. Thanks for joining the challenge!
ReplyDeleteMichelle, I really enjoyed this challenge, thanks so much for extending the invite and coming up with the idea!
DeleteThe colors are very rich looking, yet it's still so much fun with all the little doodads! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI just love the colors you chose for your tin, and the design and texture is just wonderful! Beautiful job!

Shelley, your tin is gorgeous! A lovely idea for a challenge and a great outcome :)

DeleteYour polymer clay pieces make me smile. They're so fun and whimsy. Your earrings are going to love their new home.
